Tasting Notes
Thornbury Gisborne Chardonnay 2008
Tasting Notes

This Chardonnay displays characteristics of melon and fig. The palate is rich and creamy with added complexity from elegant oak flavours. The wine is approachable now but will reward cellaring in the short to medium term.

Winemakers Notes

The individual vineyard parcels were lightly pressed and run to tanks and barrel for fermentation with a mix of wild and cultured yeast. A small percentage of the wine went through malolactic fermentation. Matured for eight months in barrel before blending, the wine was regularly lees-stirred in barrel and tank to provide texture and mouth-feel. Following blending the wine was stabilised, fined and filtered to bottle.

Cellaring

Drink now and over the next one to five years. (October 2008)
